Alethea Owens is the Payroll Manager at Hamilton Place Strategies, Flag Media Analytics, and Ballast Research, where, working with our Finance and Operations teams, she manages the responsibilities tied to our payroll and benefits.

Prior to joining Hamilton Place Strategies, Alethea gained a great deal of experience across many industries within the Payroll profession. Her roles span 25+ years, starting with learning the basics at payroll processing companies. This led to positions for companies in the legal and tech industries. Even serving as a Payroll Tax Accountant for a consulting firm. More recently, she spent time as the Payroll and Benefits Manager for a DC-based technology start-up, where she made her mark transitioning the company’s time & attendance and HRIS/payroll software and leading payroll, benefits guidance, and resources to staff and leadership.

Alethea was born and raised in Alaska where an upbringing abundant in nature adventures and environmentally-conscious activities shaped who she is today. She now calls the state of Maryland home and makes a point of experiencing the many cultures in the surrounding area, taking advantage of the diverse food and drink scenes. She enjoys the many sites and museums in the area but is most relaxed at home with a good TV or documentary series.
