HPS Welcomes Stacy Kerr as Partner
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Hamilton Place Strategies (HPS) announced Stacy Kerr will join the firm as partner. Kerr comes to HPS after founding Kerr Strategies, a public affairs and communications consultancy driven by her experience at the highest levels of politics and D.C. institutions.
Previously, Kerr was chief communications officer at Georgetown University, where she guided the iconic brand during an increasingly disruptive and complex landscape for higher education. Kerr also brings more than fifteen years of experience in national politics, having served as a senior aide to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for nine years and working on numerous campaigns. During her time with Speaker Pelosi, Kerr was a member of the senior strategic team involved in historic legislation and negotiations, including the financial crisis and the passage of the Affordable Care Act. She traveled with the Speaker internationally and to more than 50 congressional districts.
“We are incredibly excited Stacy is joining HPS,” said HPS founding partner Tony Fratto. “She is a highly talented communicator and strategist who has counseled executives and leaders at the highest levels of government and business. As HPS continues to grow and seek out new challenges, we will benefit greatly from Stacy’s knowledge, experience, creativity, and enthusiasm. Most important, Stacy fits our culture of collaboration and teaching, and she has a passion for navigating complex policy challenges. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Stacy as a new partner on our team.”
“As businesses face increasingly dynamic, complex, and evolving landscapes, it’s a fascinating time to help companies leverage strategic communications to drive their business objectives,” said Kerr. “The experience and perspective I bring complements the thoughtful, research-driven approach HPS delivers for clients. I’m thrilled to join the talented and smart team at HPS and to bring our energies together at this exciting time.”
Throughout her career, Kerr has demonstrated a personal and professional commitment to women’s leadership. She has advised institutions and clients on gender equity and diversity for more than a decade. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Georgetown Women’s Alliance, of which she is a founding member, and led Georgetown University’s involvement as an IMPACT Champion in the United Nations’ global “HeForShe” campaign for gender equity. She has served as an advisor to the OWN IT Women’s Leadership Summit and has a passion for mentoring young women starting careers in politics, public service and public relations.
A Michigan native, Kerr is a graduate of Smith College and has a master’s degree in Global Strategic Communications from Georgetown University. She is a member of the Arthur W.
