HPS Welcomes Christina Pearson as Managing Director
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Hamilton Place Strategies (HPS) is proud to announce veteran public affairs strategist Christina Pearson has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a managing director.
Pearson brings to HPS her deep experience working on some of the most consequential technology and healthcare debates of the last two decades.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Christina join us,” said Tony Fratto, founding partner of HPS. “Christina is one of the most talented communicators I’ve ever worked with. She has such wonderful judgment, she works on very complex issues, and she’s a leader. The areas where Christina has spent most of her career – technology and healthcare – are growing sectors of our business at HPS and her leadership will be invaluable.”
“Most importantly, Christina is a wonderful person and colleague. I’ve seen how she works to elevate the work of her colleagues, and that’s an important part of our culture at HPS. We’re very lucky that Christina chose to continue her career with us,” said Fratto.
Pearson said, “HPS provides a unique blend of expertise, culture, creativity, and emphasis on an analytical approach to public affairs. These principles are the foundation of great strategic work that makes a difference. I couldn’t be more delighted to start the next chapter of my career with this amazing team.”
For nearly a decade before joining HPS, Pearson directed communications for Microsoft’s government and public policy initiatives as senior director of public affairs. In that role, she elevated the voice of the company and its executives on key technology, education, and privacy issues, integrating new technologies and data-driven messaging to build support for and showcase the tangible benefits of smart policies in these areas.
Prior to Microsoft, Pearson served as Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). There she led communications across HHS’s 11 agencies, including campaigns to enroll millions of seniors in the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit, programs to bring greater awareness to chronic disease prevention, and efforts to improve international emergency preparedness for pandemics.
Pearson previously engaged at the forefront of healthcare policy debates as a spokesperson for the American Hospital Association. She worked on healthcare and finance issues as deputy communications director at the Senate Finance Committee, where she also supported tax policy and other key financial matters, including the creation and deployment of the Roth IRA. Pearson also earned agency experience working as a senior advisor at public relations firm Fleishman-Hillard.
