HPS Welcomes Bryan DeAngelis & Stephanie Walstrom
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Hamilton Place Strategies (HPS) announced that Bryan DeAngelis joined the firm as a managing director and Stephanie Walstrom has joined the firm as a director.
Bryan DeAngelis comes to HPS with deep experience in public affairs, Capitol Hill, and campaigns. At HPS DeAngelis will serve as a principal on firm engagements on issue management campaigns, corporate reputation, and crisis communications.
“I’m thrilled that Bryan is joining us at HPS,” said HPS founding partner Tony Fratto. “Bryan brings to our team such rich experience across a range of disciplines, especially dealing with complex policy issues. He is an excellent strategist and is passionate about his work. I’m excited to be working with him.”
DeAngelis joins HPS after spending eight years at the public affairs firm Kivvit in Washington D.C. where he was a senior director, advising Fortune 500 companies, major consumer brands, trade associations, and non-profits. Prior to his time at Kivvit, DeAngelis spent time on Capitol Hill as communications director and chief spokesperson for Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) where he helped execute an effective media strategy on major national issues including the 2008 financial crisis, Dodd-Frank, the Affordable Care Act, and the Senator’s work on the Foreign Relations committee. DeAngelis also served as a press secretary in the House of Representatives and a communications staffer for both Hilary Clinton’s and Chris Dodd’s 2008 presidential campaigns. In total, he has more than 15 years of experience working at the intersection of government, politics, and business with expertise in crisis and issue management, corporate reputation, stakeholder persuasion, and public policy.
Stephanie Walstrom joins HPS from advocacy nonprofit ONE Campaign, where she served as global marketing director.
“We are so lucky that Stephanie Walstrom chose to join our team,” said Fratto. “As a close friend and champion of the ONE Campaign I’ve been able to see Stephanie’s work over the years. Her leadership in building ONE’s marketing analytics program from the ground up and extensive work on international development issues will enhance our capabilities in these areas. She is incredibly talented and a terrific person. It’s going to be enormous fun to work together.”
At ONE, Stephanie delivered successful integrated campaigns on a wide range of international development issues, including HIV/AIDS, education, financial inclusion, gender equality, and internet access. She also produced major media events and secured high-level partnerships to help scale ONE’s digital communications capabilities in Africa. Notably, Walstrom led ONE’s marketing analytics program after building it from the ground up and oversaw data analysis and message testing to deliver actionable insights. Prior to her time at ONE, Walstrom worked at Wisconsin-based consulting firm Fund Development Corporation, where she managed public affairs and fundraising campaigns for major nonprofit brands.
