Patrice Smith is a director at Hamilton Place Strategies. Previously, Smith served as a communications director in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Smith worked in the U.S. Senate in the office of Senator Tim Scott (R–SC). In Scott’s office, she worked as a speechwriter and media relations liaison. Before her time in Congress, Smith lived in California, where she served in the office of San Diego Council President Pro Tempore Mark Kersey. Smith provided strategic communications support for District 5, including district outreach and community involvement.
Prior to pursuing a career in government, Smith worked for a variety of public relations and public affairs agencies in southern California and Washington, D.C. Some of her well-known client projects include Bill Conti, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Shell Oil Company, Genesis USA, Federal Realty Investment Trust, CNN commentators, and more.
She holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University and a B.S. in business administration, marketing from the University of California, Riverside.
