Cailin Schmeer is a director at Hamilton Place Strategies, where she advises a range of clients on strategic communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and public policy.

Prior to joining HPS, Cailin served at the Treasury Department as the chief speechwriter to Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin and a director of public affairs, focusing on the Paycheck Protection Program, the Financial Stability Oversight Council, and other domestic finance programs. Before joining Treasury, Cailin spent several years at the Pentagon in both policy and public affairs roles. She served as the chief of staff for special operations and low-intensity conflict and a public affairs advisor. While at the Department of Defense, she regularly advised four star-equivalent civilians on media relations, message development, and policy rollouts.

Cailin is a native of Horsham, PA, but considers Clearwater, FL, home. She graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY, where she majored in economics and played basketball. She resides in Washington, DC.
