HPS Welcomes Meghan Pennington As Senior Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Hamilton Place Strategies (HPS) announced Meghan Pennington has joined the firm as a senior director.

Meghan joins HPS after serving in top communications roles on Capitol Hill for the past decade. While on the Hill, Meghan led policy communications for key officials on energy and the environment, public works, and economics. Most recently, she served for nearly four years as communications director for U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-DE). Meghan’s experience also includes serving in communications roles for Congressman John Sarbanes (D-MD), and the late Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ), as well as former Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD). In addition, she served as a regional field director in Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley’s successful gubernatorial reelection in 2010.

A native of Hagerstown, MD, Meghan studied philosophy and political science at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she served a term as the Student Government Association’s Vice President of Academic Affairs. She was also the founding chairperson of the Provost’s Student Advisory Council. For the past 11 years, Meghan has lived in Washington, D.C., where she participates in a mentorship program for children and teens in the city’s foster care system.
