Katherine Johnston is an associate at Hamilton Place Strategies, where she works with a diverse set of clients to achieve their strategic communications and policy objectives.

Prior to joining HPS, Katherine served as an Account Director at LGND, where she worked as the client and team lead for accounts including Toyota Government Affairs, Resolve To Save Lives, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and more. Within this role she was also responsible for developing research, strategic recommendations, and communications for the firm’s creative, digital storytelling products. Previously, Katherine interned for KOIN 6-TV in Portland, Oregon where she supported the evening news team and generated original reporting for a wide variety of coverage across the city and region. Particularly passionate about equitable outcomes in education, Katherine volunteered with Special Olympics and the Helping Youth By Providing Enrichment (HYPE) program, where she mentored and tutored K-5 students at underserved community centers throughout college.

Originally from New York, Katherine graduated with distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in broadcast journalism and political science.
